On Thursday, a four-piece ensemble from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute entertained Lynn Rotary Club members with holiday selections.
The director of music for the City, Julie Carroll, said “it means a lot to the music programs to have the students perform in front of a live audience and receive applause. They can practice and rehearse a lot, but that’s not the same as performing.”
She and high-school music teacher Melanie Dada were most appreciative of having the Lynn Rotary invite the students of the LVTI Music Club to play at its annual holiday meeting.
The Lynn Rotary has been entertained by members of the Lynn Public Schools Music Department for more than a decade at its annual holiday meeting. That Rotary meeting always draws a full crowd because the members know they will be entertained.
Also in attendance were Superintendent Dr. Evonne Alvarez and Deputy Superintendent Debra Ruggiero.
