To the editor:
There’s been many recent complaints regarding the lack of road sanding in Lynn, criticizing the DPW or the mayor. That is not the problem, it’s all about funding.
In years past I do believe there were many more trucks sanding our roads.
I recall at one time the city had about 10 to 12 sanding trucks, it may be half of that now.
They work with the equipment they are provided with, not to mention working long hours.
This goes back a long way, if you want to put the onus on any administration or agency, I suggest you get your shovels out and spread the blame in all directions, that should give an idea how long the city has lacked the sufficient equipment to adequately sand roads in a timely manner.
It would not hurt to voice your concerns to all members of the Lynn City Council, also having a public meeting would also be beneficial, then you can pick and choose who you want to put on the hot seat!
Please, leave the shovels at home.
That’s my opinion.
Sincerely,
Robert Nadeau
Lynn
