Peabody’s boys basketball team polished off an 18-2 regular season record on Wednesday with a thrashing of Saugus at home.
In the 68-26 final, Anthony Forte of the Tanners kept his stellar season intact with 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists. He was followed by do-it-all Raphel Laurent (16 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks), Cam Connolly (9 points), Jariel Tolentino (9 points, 5 rebounds), and John Lucas (6 points).
For the Sachems, 4-14, Huey Josama led the way with 15 points, followed by Travis Goyetche (6) and Isaiah Rodriguez (5).

Bishop Fenwick 62
Back in mid-January, St. Mary’s invaded Fenwick High with a road win against the Crusaders. Fast forward a month and two days, and the Spartans got it done in Lynn.
In the first matchup, St. Mary’s JJ Martinez and Fenwick’s James Meklis, of Lynn, led the way, but Wednesday night came with other contributions, too.
Kyle Rush had a team-high 21 points for the Spartans, followed by Martinez (18). For Fenwick, Dom Panniello Torres (22 points), Jimmy Vahey (17 points, 10 rebounds), Brady Jenkins (11 points, 8 assists), and Jake Bellacini (8 points, 5 rebounds) played strong games.

Greater Lawrence 43
The Commonwealth Athletic Conference belongs to the Lynn Tech Tigers for the second consecutive season. They improved to 15-2 with a home win on Wednesday.
Athletic big man Ederick Gonzalez did his thing with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Giovanni Jean netted 16 points alongside six assists.
Newburyport 41
Lynnfield 35
Newburyport sports a 16-3 record. Add home-court advantage to that, and it makes for a tough game.
Lynnfield fell short Wednesday night, dipping its record to 13-5. Alex Fleming (9 points, 15 rebounds) and Zach Pincus (10 points, 12 rebounds) played well in defeat.

A 15-point deficit at halftime was nothing for the Lynn Tech Tigers, who climbed to 13-6 on the season with a come-from-behind win against KIPP.
As for the Panthers, they were led by Jasmine Castillo’s 12 points, eight rebounds, two blocks.

Lynn Classical 56
Lynn Classical fell short Monday night against Georgetown, but not without positives. Lauren Wilson dropped 17 points, followed by Savannah Tang’s 11. The Lady Rams (13-4) visit Medford in their regular season finale on Thursday.
BOYS HOCKEY
St. John’s Prep 4
Andover 0
Outshoot the opposition 49-11, and there’s a good chance you’ll wind up on top. The Prep raced to a 4-0 win at home to improve to 15-3.
Jake Vana – five goals in two games – opened the scoring, and the Eagles took care of things from there. Caleb White, Christian Rosa, and Greg Benedetto tucked the others.

Marlborough 2
Lynnfield put together a solid performance in enemy territory, but Marlborough scored shorthanded and power play goals to salvage a tie in its home rink.
Jarret Scoppettuolo and Jack Carpenter tucked the Pioneers’ tallies, while Michael Marenghi played a superb game between the pipes.
BC High 5
St. Mary’s 2
St. Mary’s Cam McGonagle and JJ Avery were quite the tandem in this one, each scoring a goal and assisting the other. In the end, however, it wasn’t enough in a BC High home win.
BC High – which trailed the Spartans, 2-0 – converted on a penalty shot (4-2) for insurance in the third, then Chris Brennick scored the game’s final goal.

Newburyport 1
Connery Rink in Lynn was serving 10-pieces as the Spartans took care of business in 10-1 fashion against the Clippers. Freshman Bella Freitas continued her hot streak with another hat trick, while Audrey Zimck potted two goals.
St. Mary’s is back at home this Saturday for Senior Day against Beverly.
