A Saugus Public Schools employee was arrested at the Saugus Middle/High School Complex on Thursday, according to an email sent by Superintendent of Schools Michael Hashem.
Hashem did not disclose any details of the arrest, including what the charges against the employee are and what their role in the district is, but confirmed “an incident… concerning a staff member” took place that required the intervention of the Saugus Police Department.
“The allegations concerning this employee are deeply concerning,” Hashem wrote, adding that “at no time was the safety of students or staff in jeopardy.”
Hashem deferred further comment to the Police Department. A spokesman for the department did not immediately return multiple requests for comment, though a person working in Chief Michael Ricciardelli’s office said a statement was expected to be released Thursday.
